I can't believe we are already 10 days into September! It already feels like this school year is flying by!
A few things I want to update you on or remind you of:
-Please be sure you are signing your child's agenda each night and looking at the Homework section! I sign it so you know that I've looked at it and is is correct.
-If you have not yet turned in the photo permission slip for Dr. Champion please let me know so I can send another home.
-Progress reports went home today! Please sign and return. I will send home the original after I get a copy of the signed version.
-Please always email me if you have any questions. I try to respond as soon as I can and I check my email most nights between 7:00 and 8:00.
-If you have not joined Seesaw, our online portfolio, please email me. I would love to invite you. You can use it through a smart phone, tablet or the computer. It allows you to see what's going on in our room a few times a week! I only post things relevant to your child!
-Be sure your student is reading AT LEAST 20 minutes each night. I have sent home a reading log for a couple of weeks now and it is always due on Friday.
-I will be assessing spelling through writing now that we are really getting into the writing process. I will no longer be giving spelling tests the traditional way. We will still do word studies and the words will be sent home, but no test will be given based on those words. I will assess through writer's workshop!
-Testing is coming up after Fall Break. Please make sure your students get plenty of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast!
-I have enjoyed this class so much so far this year! I can't wait to see what else this year has in store! :)
-Please join us for the Wellness Run! Info was sent home in Thursday folders.
-First in Math is a new math practice website we are using. The kids are loving it so far. They have their login info on their agendas so please have them practice at home when they can!
