Homework

Hey Parents!

Just want to give you all a heads up about homework.  We are learning about money in class.  Students are struggling with coin recognition.  In second grade, our standard is to solve word problems, (like riddles) about money, not to teach money recognition.  Students are expected to already recognize coins and know their value.  Please check with your child and see if they have working knowledge about coins. We will continue with money next week.

Our March homework has a new look!  Every night is a technology site. Please initial the homework calendar each night to indicate that they were on the site.  There is also a math problem on some nights.  We felt the students need a little more practice with 3 digit addition and subtraction with regrouping, but will have limited time to practice in class.  Please have your child practice the problem with a strategy of their choice.  If they show their work on paper and bring it in, they will get an extra DoJo point for the day, plus gain confidence in this skill.
