About Mr. Weathers: Daryl Weathers is a life-long educator. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee but grew up in Pensacola, Florida. After attending public school in Pensacola, he went on to graduate from Florida A&M University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He continued his education and earned his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Florida A&M University in 1992 and his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida State University in 1998.
Daryl has 25 years of experience in all grade levels of public education. He started his career as an elementary school teacher in Tallahassee, Florida and moved on to several administrative positions within middle schools and high schools located in the Tallahassee area. Daryl also served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida A&M University while serving as the Principal for the Florida A & M University Developmental Research School.
In 1999, Daryl relocated to Orlando, Florida. He was an Administrator at West Orange High School for one year before his appointment as Principal of Ivey Lane Elementary School in December, 1999 until July 2005. Throughout his career, Daryl has received many honors and awards due to his excellence in the field of education. He is active in many organizations and most currently was appointed to serve on the Harvard University International Principals’ Center Advisory Board for five years (2003-2007). Currently, Daryl works with the Cobb County School District as a fourth grade instructor at Acworth Elementary School.
