It is officially the end of our first nine weeks. The time seems to have flown by. I am so proud of the progress that each and every one of the students has made...and there's more where that came from!
- We are reading everyday in guided reading groups and focusing on making connections, predicting, and discussing the text. I think this is my favorite part of the day.
- In math we will continue to work on adding 2 and 3 digit numbers with regrouping. We will begin to work on subtracting with regrouping as well. Money, measurement, graphing, and other skills will continue to be covered as well. Geometry will be taught in the upcoming nine weeks too.
- Our writing focus has been personal narratives. We are working on using organizer to help focus our work as well as add details that interest the reader.
- In social studies we will learn about several historic Georgians. We will also look at goods and services.
- In science we will wrap up our unit on matter then jump right in to learning about light, heat and energy.
If you have not already done so, please complete and return the conference forms sent home last week. Don't forget that the week of conferences (10/24-10/28) students will be dismissed two hours early.
