Mrs. Mann, Miss Fricks and I get so excited about the happenings in the Acworth Media Center! Here is a list of what is coming up soon. You don't want to miss out so be READ-y!

• February 12: Arbor Day Posters due to the Media Center; judging the next day by Acworth Parks and Recreation
• February 25-March 1: Stove Pipe Hat Sales for Hat Day and Dr. Suess Birthday Celebration March 1
• March 4-8: Scholastic Bookfair STORY LABORATORY; evening event on March 5
• March 15: Author Annette Laing to visit Acworth

Holidays in the Media Center!

Welcome to our Winter Wonderland! We are having so much fun reading holiday favorites in the media center this week.....and Mrs. Mann and I love wearing our Grinchy pajamas all week, too.

Scholastic Bookfair GREAT Success!

Thank you so much for supporting the Fall Scholastic Bookfair at Acworth! We had the best sales ever since I have been at Acworth Elementary! We had sales over $9,700 and from those sales we got over $1,100 worth of new books for the media center and money to be spent on author visits this spring. This fundraiser means so much to our media program. Thanks to all the students, teachers, parents and volunteers that helped make it such a success this fall. Acworth is the BEST!

 

 

Scholastic Bookfair Coming to Acworth

Our Scholastic Bookfair will begin with preview days this Friday 11/9 and Monday 11/12. We are so excited to provide quality books for our staff and students through Scholastic! Please consider supporting our fair this year.....the time is right to get gifts for the season.

Introducing Haley Fricks!

We are so fortunate to have a helper in the media center this year! Haley Fricks is the aunt to one of our students and has provided valuable help to Mrs. Clay, Mrs. Mann and all of our media center visitors! Haley lives locally in Acworth and is 21 years old. Her hard work and independent spirit provide such a great example to our students! Thanks so much to Haley!

Acworth Receives Grant from Target!

Acworth was fortunate to get $500 from our Acworth Target Store and First Books. The grant provided funds for each grade level and for our special education department. The grade levels chose their books according to what they were teaching this year! Thanks so much to our community for the great resources for our classrooms!
